Most government typing exams — CPCT (MP), court typing tests and state recruitment exams — use the Remington layout with the Kruti Dev 010 font. Some newer exams also allow Inscript with the Mangal font; check your exam notice.
Type the f key BEFORE the consonant — कि is typed as f then d. On a typewriter the ि glyph physically comes before the letter.
Hold Shift: most consonant keys produce their half form on the shifted layer. For example Shift+D gives क्, Shift+U gives न्. र् (reph) is Shift+Z, typed after the cluster.
